To begin the Project

For this assignment you will be designing a sneaker based on a theme. First you will need to create a sketch. As you can see above. The first step is to draw a couple of sketches. What should be in the sketch?

Requirements:

  • Specify the type of shoe you want to use.

  • Use a theme

  • Colors consistent with your theme

  • Images and designs that work with your theme

  • Notes outlining your thinking as a designer

Final Steps

Once your designs have been approved you will need to begin working in Illustrator.

Requirements:

Set paper to 11 inches x 8.5 inches

You will need to use the pen tool to draw the shoe.

Label this as shoe layer outline

Next you will need to color and add designs to the shoe- make a new layer called color

Make another layer for designs.

Create a new layer and label it text. Using the text tool give the shoe a title and explain the theme and how you used it through out the shoe.

What's Next?

You will need to find an image of the sneaker and using the pen tool, draw it in Illustrator.

( It's important to use the pen tool because you will be creating a vector image.

Unlike bitmaps, vector images are not based on pixel patterns, but instead use mathematical formulas to draw lines and curves that can be combined to create an image from geometric objects such as circles and polygons.
