What's an Emoji? Can anyone using a smart phone not really know what they are?
An emoji is
a small digital image or icon used to express an idea, emotion, etc., in electronic communication.

Is there a difference between an emoji and emoticon?
Emoji (from the Japanese e, “picture,” and moji, “character”) are a slightly more recent invention. Not to be confused with their predecessor, emoji are pictographs of faces, objects, and symbols. ... So, if you come across a smiley face that contains a character you can find on your computer keyboard, it's an emoticon.
Requirements:
Paper Size: 128x128 pixels

Must be clear what your emoji is communicating

Must save images as 32 x 32 pixels

Prepare emoji proposal for submission by saving as what it is_apple or android.png
Determine what type of emoji you would like to create. Read the wired guide to emojis and visit the emoji proposal site.
Emoji's can be changed in design or you can add a new type of emoji.
